Our pieces draw inspiration from literature, music and the natural world; all its cruelty and glory. Klements holds a innate preference for a macabre, unsettling beauty tempered by a lust for the progressive and strange.
Our distinctive art works and prints are hand painted and drawn by the label's founder, Charlotte Allen. We work with the finest silks and (where possible) organic cottons to create pieces that with respect and care, will last forever.
With each season we strive to learn and improve our label's sustainability, and have recently started working with GOTS organic cottons and end of life cloths. But we are proud of the ethical way we have always produced our collections since the launch of Klements in 2012. We have continued to work with and support the same small family run manufactures. Making in England is expensive, but we love our maker's employment standards and of course the excellent make quality and the fact we can nip and pick up our collections in person!
We believe fashion should not be fast. Slow down, buy less but buy ethically made, quality pieces. In a world of ripped off designs and soulless, exploitative mass production, we work hard to offer original, unique collections that are thoughtfully made. Our prints can take weeks to paint, our silks and garments are made slowly, with care - the way they used to be.
