Our silk scarf in the watchtower print, it's our Hendrix inspired print. There is an urban myth, in which Jimi Hendrix released a pair of Parakeets on Carnaby street in the 60’s which, they say, lead to the lurid green birds colonizing parts of London and the UK. This has been disproven, but we still like to believe it to be true. Whilst taking solace in nature walks during the 2020 lock downs we saw hundreds of the magnificent birds, and every time it felt magic, like Hendrix was smile at us! This print is a series of our trippy illustrations, including parakeets, flaming watch towers, mushrooms, dolphins and palm trees.
Available in two options;
Medium square scarf in silk twill. The twill is a medium weight silk, which takes the prints beautifully. The scarf luxuriously has hand rolled hems and a gold screen print logo on the corner which we hand print in our studio in London. 90 x 90cm made in England. £99.
Large square scarf in silk. The silk is lighter weight than the silk twill in a flat weave, which also takes the print beautifully. The scarf luxuriously has hand rolled hems and a gold screen print logo on the corner which we hand print in our studio in London. 135 x 135 cm made in England. £135.
Scarf held by model is 135 x 135cm, scarf worn as head scarf is 90 x 90cm.
Our opinion; we love both options for different reasons... the medium versions sits neatly as a folded neck scarf, or babushka head scarf. The colours are intense and the hand rolled hems look incredibly on this base. The coverage on the reverse is good on this scarf. This option is also popular for people wanting to frame scarves, being smaller in size than the large. The large version is very impressive because the size is all engulfing! Although it also fits wonderfully around the neck, but has more volume than the medium. It holds colour beautifully and the rolled hems look great. It can double up a throw for a sofa or chair to add colour and drama to a room. The silk is lighter than the medium scarf, therefore the coverage on the reverse of the scarf is almost as good as the front. We wear both and sell both in equal quantities.
Both 100% Silk, made in England.
